Of course, the crew member is paid and trained to do a job and he should do it. But that doesn’t apply to the male passengers. The problem with “women can do whatever men can do, but better” (to quote just one idiot feminist slogan) is that men just might take them at their word…..

    It’s the same with work now, women are experiencing strains/injuries/death a lot more. Their participation in upper-management can lead to cancers/stresses/dis-eases that were once a mans problem.
    I’m lead to believe the whole ‘equality’ thing was started to mobilise a bigger workforce in the bad old days of retarded Russia.
    (I still give up my seat on the bus for ladies and the elderly-)

    Catastrophic events like shipwrecks and war bring out both the very best and the very worst in humanity. You will probably find as many notable examples of manly conduct among the crew and male passengers as you will incidents of obnoxious self preservation and cowardice. Whether the female sex is worthy of the ultimate courtesy of a lifeboat seat being exchanged for the real possibility of a lung full of tide is irrelevant. You are either a man or you’re not. Your behaviour in time of crisis has been molded and trained by the hundreds of other life interactions with women and you will react accordingly.
    You don’t have to live with those shrill assertive and objectionable emasculating voices of the ‘equality’ movement. You can shut them out. But you do have to live with the voice in your head that would rightly accuse you of unmanliness if you bolted for the boat.
    Start now with the courtesies to women that were common three generations back — even if it’s received with rebuff. What’s the chaff to the wheat?

    What’s that saying? – “There are no feminists on a sinking ship.”

    While I think many men are better than that, there are obviously those who have been ‘reprogrammed’ to think they are essentially second class citizens and that women can in fact do anything; not least look after themselves.

    This sort of attitiude [by some men] is yet another outworking of the leftist/feminist chickens-coming-home-to-roost agenda at work. Why are we surprised?!

    The whole issue, of course goes much deeper than men not thinking courtesy and chivalry are worthwhile.
    There has been a carefully constructed program in place on the part of schools to push feminist/marxist ideologies, to destroy the traditional family structure with the male as the head of the family and to turn boys into genderless tools of the social engineering project.
    Boys once grew up with tales of heroism and manhood and those books no longer appear in schools. Instead they’re fed a diet of chick-lit shit and their maleness is ruthlessly denigrated and even punished by largely female marxist indoctribots, from playcentres onward.
    Maleness (real maleness, not Hollywood-style thuggery) has become something to be derided and devalued everywhere from women’s magazines to television to theatre plays. Man as buffoon. Man as villain. Man as bumbling incompetent saved by strong woman. No wonder boys–especially those without a decent male role-model in the home–are confused and angry and dysfunctional.
    And he’s just been taught at school by some know-nothing bimbo teacher with a rent-a-degree that winning is a no-no.
    So winning isn’t respectable any more. Chivalry is a word he probably doesn’t even know, let alone understand. Half the girls of his age dress like sluts and are foul-mouthed aggressive nihilists, and like him, they regard courtesy and consideration as weaknesses.
    Why would he give up a seat in the lifeboat for people who are no different to himself?
