Been even further out West (to Cloncurry) looking at land and wrecked houses and stuff. Found one block for $1+unpaid rates. Plenty more around.
Need beer. And sleep.

    It sure is, Darin. There are two grouchy old coots already in residence and a hell of a lot of space between ’em. Their views on councils and government and regulations are unprintable. One of them was slashing grass to keep the snakes down and when I asked if it was working he shrugged and opined that maybe not, but they made a lovely noise as he ran the tractor and slasher over them. He also has a paddock full of very old Diamond T tip trucks, and a ’54 Chevy tow truck…..
    Unlimited water, (rare, in this country) and mains power.
    Looks like our kind of country and it’s only 40k out of town.

      Sounds like my kinda people!Had a rare visit from some old friends I used to Log with.The minute they pulled up and I saw the front corner of the trucks hood cut out so the Visegrip battery terminals would clear I knew who they were :grin:

      Well, it’s sunny enough, Mara. (37c right now.) But a wide-brimmed hat and an eye on the fluid intake takes care of that. :smile:
