Looks like the reaction to the verdict in the Scott Gut murder trial……Not guilty….but the state’s case was purely circumstantial. What worries me more is that McDonald can be re-tried on the same charge if new evidence turns up…so much for no double jeopardy.

  2. KG says:

Double jeopardy is almost a relic of the past, Michael. I seem to remember a Wellington businessman being tried three times before the State got the verdict it wanted.

    Looks like someone nuked Rottnest!

  4. Ciaron says:

I see some spectacular sun rises here, and I’ve even tryed to photo a few, but the colours just don’t come out anywhere near as vivid as this. What is Gecko’s secret?

    • KG says:

This one isn’t a Gecko pic, Ciaron. But she does take some great sunset/sunrise pics, and they’re never manipulated afterwards.
I think choosing which part of the sky to meter (and whether spot or overall) makes a big difference to the colour saturation.

I am from WA. I so miss not living there. Been in NZ for 20 years and still I am not happy living here. Anyway, the photo is stunning and made me homesick. If you are in WA then you are a lucky devil.

    • KG says:

We’re not in WA at the moment, Pix. Far West Queensland is our current ‘home”.
Homesickness is a bitch–I never got over it when living in NZ, much as I enjoyed the place. Just the sound of a passing rosella parrot or magpies warbling in the morning would be enough to bring on an attack…
