‘A moral obligation to defy the law’

(on laws against free speech in Australia):
‘…Sadly, the long retreat from freedom may well continue. The soft totalitarians from the Left are counting on the conservative addiction to due process and law abiding stability and, of course, general apathy. However, I suspect they fear that one day people will wake up and resist and the edifice of political correctness will crumble into dust.’ Quadrant

The problem is that more people need to wake up and understand that those politicians and bureaucrats pushing these kind of laws are evil bastards who don’t deserve the protection that a civil society affords them.

I’m always surprised when people think we should treat all laws with respect. Considering the assholes who make them (and the slimy bureaucratic pricks who dream up regulations), and the selective way they’re enforced, the truly weird thing is how few people break the law deliberately.
