   As I have asked-so many times- why do our BEST continue to volunteer when their govt and military “leaders” betray them?–RoEs- et al–

   I volunteered for the U.S. Army as an infantryman in 1966, just after I graduated from high school.

   In those days the American Army was engaged in the Vietnam War, but my purpose was to serve the American People, and certainly not corrupt President Johnson’s Democrat Party (spit!) that controlled the government – that had sent 500,000 troops to S.E.A. under R.O.E.s that made victory impossible.

   It’s says a lot when the mother of a soldier proves to be a more insightful individual than the President of the United States. It is also a pity that the mainstream media ignores her pleas and those of the other parents who have lost children due to the leftist’s running of the war. The sad truth is that the left has never lost its hatred of the military in general and of the soldier in particular.

   Too right,the west should be respected by our allies and feared by our enemies.In America we are no longer either,we gave away the moral high ground and abandoned the bed rock principal of total war.

   We lost the Afghan war the day we decided to make deals with the Taliban and try to appease Al Qaeda instead of just killing them.In the end result we have already lost the hearts and minds of the Afghan people we had high ideals of liberating.We invaded and occupied at significant costs in both lives and material and for what?If anything the enemy is stronger and in better control of the country than when we started.
   Imagine if we had rolled into France in WWII and instead of killing the Nazis and driving them out we just decided to win their hearts and minds?Stepping back from the present and measuring it against the rule of history we can see what a fools we have for leaders and how ignorant we are for allowing them to lead us down the same worn path.
