‘It’s one of the US Marine Corps’ more famous mottos, and 19-year-old Lance Corporal Myles Kerr lived up to it on Saturday. Not on the battlefield, but in a 5km race.
LCpl Kerr was competing in the Jeff Drench Memorial 5K in Charlevoix, Michigan with several other marines when he spotted a nine-year-old boy, Boden Fuchs, struggling to finish the race after falling behind the rest of his group, The Huffington Post reports.
“Sir, will you please run with me?” Boden asked LCpl Kerr.
So the marine dropped back from his buddies to run alongside the boy, motivating and encouraging him….’

Indeed and kudos to the kid for sticking in there and finishing the race!
Good on them both.
What I find heartening is the kid knew who to ask to run with him.
