FFS!! How long before this spreads to Australia?

Terry Wallbank, The Conservative blog:
Scottish big-brother ‘Named Person’ law absolutely draconian
I have also mentioned many times before that liberalism/progressivism has no borders; what happens in Scotland today, for example, will happen in New Zealand tomorrow. And this draconian ‘Named Person’ law will be no exception as child abuse and family dysfunction in New Zealand, caused by liberalism, is the same if not worse than Scotland.
So what does this ‘Named Person’ law involve?
Essentially what it means is this: every child is assigned a ‘named person’ who could be a health professional or a teacher, for example. And all of the child’s personal medical records and doctors’ appointments, etc., are sent to the ‘named person’ so the child’s development can be monitored according to the eight ‘wellbeing’ criteria in the image above. In other words, every child gets a government-approved extra parent whether the natural parents want one or not. Or put another way, when this law becomes official 2016 all natural parents will be forced to toe the ‘progressive’ line and will be forced to raise their children according to the ‘progressive’ doctrine.
This is absolute big-brother totalitarianism to the extreme—very dangerous indeed…’

“DOUBLEPLUSGOOD :!:” says Parsons upon hearing the news in Airstrip One.

The same idea was floated by the Left here a couple of years ago. A ‘mentor’ was to be assigned to each child at birth to be sure it was educated correctly. Yeah right.

It will soon be turned into another gravy train as ‘aunties’ and ‘uncles’ line up to be named for all the illegitimate kids born to 16 year olds.

At least in Australia it is unlikely Rolf Harris will qualify as a “named person.”

The creators of this idea mean well, but it is another example of top-down control rather than empowering the family to look after its own.

I’m not as relaxed and trusting about their possible motives, Odakyu-sen. Everything government touches turns to crap. Always. And the sorts of people who attach themselves like remoras to every government intrusion into our lives are some of the unloveliest specimens of leeches.
