I wonder where Robert went? I wanted to ask him about the Catalonia independence movement.

    Motorcycling, anyone?

Come on, who rides one out there? (I’ve got a 2001 Yamaha R6.)

How are things going with knocking your place-in-the-country into shape KG?

    • KG says:

Bloody hard work, Tranquil, but a lot of fun too. Nice people around here.
Getting pneumonia slowed things up for a few days but I’m making up for that now.

      • tranquil says:

Ok…… yep, I can well imagine that there’d be lots to do…. :)

Great to hear that your pneumonia has gone.
Good to hear that the people around there are nice. No surprise to me – rural and small-town folks are so often really good sorts, I’ve found.

Settling into the writing thing again. I only get an hour a day, which is about 500 words- but that will get the job done in six months or so. I’m working this weekend, so that should help get a bit more done ;-)

  5. What? No golf? Okay…how about curling, then?

    • KG says:

Well, it’s far more interesting than golf, Francis. Watching the lawn grow is more interesting than golf.

      • Ronbo says:

AMEN :!: When I was in Germany, I allowed some friends to talk me into golfing in Berlin. It sucked :!: BORING :!: Plus the fact my balls went in any direction besides the one I wanted it to go.

What does Obamacare,a liberal liar and a butt hurt demorat Lemming voter all have in common?A WSJ article with some excellent comments below it is what.

    http://online.wsj.com/articles/burke-beu-this-democrat-is-giving-up-on-obamacare-1415919619

The article is an example of a person who went somewhere their brain wasn’t equipped to follow and the rank and file conservative populace proving once again that we are well ahead of the curve.

    • Ronbo says:

I predict this will be part of a wave…

Kind of like Germany after WW II…

“Yes, I was a Nazi. The party drafted me :!: However, I never really liked Hitler, or National Healthcare, or that jazz about a Third Reich. Yes, I voted for Hitler, but I really meant to vote for the other guy. I didn’t because there were Storm Troopers outside the polling station.”

The past week was yet another where the NZ media proved it is the most dumbed-down institution in the country (perhaps anywhere?)

The “news” was dominated by breathy coverage of the paedo who outwitted the Corrections Department (in this case not a misnomer) to flee to Brazil. The paedo’s every move was reported and just as his “celebrity” status was really beginning to fly he was caught by the police in Brazil. Not to worry we can expect incessant reporting of his path through the Courts and his flight home..what was he wearing? What were the conditions in the Brazilian gaol? What did he eat on the flight back to NZ? This, to the media in NZ represents “news.” It is crap!

The proof that mankind is made for achievement, wonder, conceptualisation etc was largely ignored. I refer to the intricate procedure of placing a small craft on a comet. The brains that calculated how to do this deserve celebrity status, but still we are served up rubbish about a spineless fleeing paedo! FFS!!! (What happened to your machine-gun icon?)

    • Cadwallader says:

It gets worse…I just looked at Stuff and the leading story is about the winners of a “reality” TV show. Please send me something I can kill or at least maim.

      • KG says:

I know how you feel, Cad. “News” reporting in this country is an effing sad joke.

        • Cadwallader says:

What DID happen to your machine-gun icon? I really really need it at times.

          • KG says:

 Me too. I’ll go take another look and see if I can find it.
            Big Machine Gun

            • KG says:

I can send you the code for that one. All you have to do is copy and paste it into the comments box.

              • Cadwallader says:

Great please do….I was concerned I would be left with clubs as in golf clubs. Given “golf” is a non mentionable here, as it is in my neck of the woods, things were looking dire.

From the final post at the Jiffy Screen Door Repair and Replacement Service (or summat like that): Islam handbook; a radical muslim wants to behead you, a moderate muslim wants a radical muslim to behead you. What am I going to do when Remus has gone?

    • tranquil says:

Gawd…… (puke) – they’ve even got an “Islamophobia Awareness Month”.
What an absolute group of *pussies* and they have the *nerve* to call themselves “police”.

As far as I’m concerned, REAL police are like the state troopers in places like Alaska and the Southern States. Police with heavily-worn ‘cuffs from frequent use.

      • KG says:

I’d have thought a Brit soldier being beheaded on a public street in broad daylight would be all the “awareness” they’d need.
        Apparently not.

After Beslan, how many more reminders do folks need that living on the side of a smoking volcano is not a good idea?

            Smiley

          • Cadwallader says:

I read somewhere recently, (might have been here?) the difference between a radical muslim and a moderate muslim. “A radical muslim wishes to behead you while a moderate muslim wishes a radical muslim would behead you.”

    • KG says:

Brilliant! And about bloody time, too.

      • tranquil says:

Yep, and the *great* thing is that there are a number of *non-halal* companies (mentioned in the article) that are using that status as a selling-point (which is great!).

          • Darin says:

The corporate folks DO listen to call in and web based comments sent in by consumers. They pay attention to them a lot more that people think especially FB and Twitter.

The key here for us is the moment we catch wind of them doing something stupid,is for us to start filling their inboxes with our dislike of their plans. If they see 500-600 people start e-mailing and Tweeting objections they notice.

The USA is stuffing itself rapidly. As if we didn’t know?

As was pointed out over a few wines/beers etc this afternoon that a 7ft black guy who can barely speak gets paid more for dropping a basketball through a hoop than the physicist who figured out ten years ago the optimum time to drop a spacecraft onto a racing comet. :?:

Since our hero, Remus, will shortly saddle up and ride into the sunset while the background music playing will be the theme song of the “Magnificent Seven,” I would submit the “Warning Signs” blog by Alan Caruba as a replacement.

    http://factsnotfantasy.blogspot.com/

I’ve been a reader since Alan started to publish it years ago and it has attracted 1,000 followers to date.

Alan is an elderly professional writer and stalwart conservative.

If you liked Remus, you’ll enjoy Warning Signs as well.

Norwegian’s ‘Syria’ video hoax dupes millions
    http://www.thelocal.no/20141115/norwegians-fake-syrian-hero-boy-video-dupes-world
Internet viewers believed it was real and watched in their millions, but a video posted about children being affected by the war in Syria has been revealed as a fake made by a group Norwegian filmmakers.

    • KG says:

Funded by the Norwegian taxpayers, too, Yokel. And the grant was made in the full knowledge that it was going to be fictitious!

My AK-15 saga continues. For more than a few years I have been following the slow development of AR-15 rifles that chamber the 7.62 x 39 cartridge. It’s taken awhile to get the various bugs worked out, hard primers, mag feed issues and chronic ignition failures do to ammo quality controls. Finally however they have all been sorted to a point where 90% reliability has been achieved. One of my budds at work has been wanting a new .30cal semi for awhile, originally wanting a Ruger Ranch .30,but after seeing the current price and leadtime he decided to try an AR-15 in 7.62,so off we went with credit card in hand.

Found the lower receiver, the part the ATF considers the actual gun for $50 at PSA.This was what they refer to as a “blemished” lower, although all that we could find wrong with it was one little scratch inside the mag well BFD we figure.Got the complete upper assembly, barrel, bolt, bolt carrier, stock and trigger group from Model 1 sales $603 including shipping. We put it together a couple nights ago and it’s headed to the range tomorrow so we shall see.So for $603+$50+$20 for the transfer he’s into a semi-auto .30 cal rifle that shoots $.20/rd ammo. Not bad I think, hopefully it will perform as good as some more recent examples on the tube-

    • KG says:

That’s one hell of a good price for something like that, Darin, if you don’t count all the hours you’ve spent getting the ammo sorted.

      • Darin says:

That’s where my policy of “early bird gets the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese” comes in. ;-)

I’ve been following money and time burnt by others,I don’t have time nor money to break new ground,so I have learned to wait and study before pulling the trigger on new gear pardon the pun.I’ll help my budd work through his new build and see how it performs before I build mine.Any improvements I make to mine will be added to his.

  16. KG says:

I’m still pondering a ranch rifle in .223, but I’d have to sell the Sako .243 to be able to afford it.
