‘Dog Guards Trapped Mate for a Week Waiting for Someone to Rescue Her
For one of the most heartwarming stories of the week, two dogs that had been missing for over a week were found in an isolated place on Vashon Island near Seattle, Washington.
Their absence was finally explained when the pair were found with one dog stuck in a deep hole unable to get out, while her companion had been standing guard the entire time…’
‘The more I see of the depressing stature of people, the more I admire my dogs.’
–Alphonse de Lamartine
I guess a hole is “deep” depending on what breed of dog is stuck in it.
As a kid I had a blue heeler for whom six foot high corrugated metal fences (no capping in those days) were no issue at all.
She used to rack off to the tennis courts and steal the balls when they went over the fence. As kids we never thought to question why we had a never ending supply of tennis balls in the yard.
I hate to see them chained up in suburban yards while their owners are away at work all day. Same with Kelpies.
Our old neighbor out on the farm had a Heeler/Curr mix.Crazy hyperactive dog she was.The dog was running across a field, jumping and borking as she went.We were wondering what she was after then we realized there was a small plane flying overhead and the crazy mut was chasing it
I’m a great fan of German Shepherds. Smart, cruisy dogs.
When my two lab/retrievers go I plan on replacing one of them with a German Shepard. Drives my wife nuts when I look at the dogs and ask them “will one of you bastards die already so I can get a real dog?”
I had a female White one all through High school, great, loyal dog.
I wish I had the time and a fenced yard for a Dog,I’d probably get either a black lab or a Belgian Malinois the GS smaller cousin. We have one local K-9 officer that was quite the hero awhile back-

Apart from being the fastest dog breed, the Greyhound also is the highest jumper, the record being held by a female greyhound according to the Guinness book of records at 72.5 cm. I read years ago that a young fit greyhound can jump in the vicinity of 6 feet.
Sorry that should have read inches.
I’m kinda partial to Whippets, lazy couch potatoes inside and four legged lightening bolts outside

I always get a laugh when I see a scene in a movie where some guy is getting chased by dobermans or somesuch and they only seem to close in by several feet a second.
My dog is as thick as a plank and grows copious amounts of wool which costs a fortune to have regularly shorn. A sheep would have been better value. Think full freezer.
Don’t reckon the chinese would see that you had an issue.
