One slice at a time…..

‘New Zealand’s foreign intelligence agency should be able to spy on Kiwis’ private communications, a wide-ranging intelligence and security review has recommended.
At the same time, a new single piece of legislation to govern both the activities of the Security Intelligence Service and Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) would contain a beefed-up authorisation process, designed to safeguard privacy…’
So..they’re going to spy on the private communications of Kiwis, but at the same time are claiming that they’ll “safeguard privacy”

“The loss of freedom is like cancer; it will spread slowly but surely across all parts of society until our liberty has been utterly eaten away and we are left with nothing but a half-forgotten idea of what freedom was.”

      Everyone spies on everyone.

Everyone informs on everyone’s citizens but their own.

When the evidence could have been conceivably come across by other means the feds “backwalk” the info for the local yokels who claim to have found themselves in the right place at the right time.

And it dawns on people that those millions of laws and regulations they ignored as “unenforceable” suddenly form a net through which no man may slip without permission.
