Darin, it could be worse. You could be forced to listen to Hip-Hop. At least you’re listening to music. http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_bye.gif

It’s a funny thing, but the young crowd are starting discover old music and turning off the hip hop.Seems the old stuff is much, much better.Who knew?http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_whistle3.gif

      • I listened (and still do) to my dad’s music while enjoying that of my generation.
Look at the choice of music for the soundtrack of Guardians of the Galaxy (and many other movies) and you know that the kids today prefer it over that of their own generation.

Great stuff, Darin. I am not usually a fan of country but that is something different; it kind of mixes blues into it.

    • Darin says:

Definitely mixes in the Blues, the Delta Blues being born just a couple hundred miles due north in the Mississippi Delta.
I’ve been to several Cajun family get togethers and folk festivals, always a great time.http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_smile.gif

    True storyhttp://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_wink.gif
Love Cajun music. So much so I thought…Hey…This can’t be so hard.
So I bought a Cajun Accordian, not a Louisiana made one but a second hand
10 button Hohner. Got pretty hooked for while and finished up with quite a collection of themhttp://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/wp-content/plugins/wp-monalisa/icons/wpml_yahoo.gif
They are a simple diatonic instrument which play a different note on the push and pull, unlike a piano accordion. Not that hard for the unmusical (me), to get a tune out of. But the Cajun style of playing is very different. from the tuning to the unique syncopation used, whether its a waltz or a quick step. Never really mastered it. But hey…I tried!
