    One of the more poorly exemplified tactics of the totalitarian state depicted in Orwell’s 1984> was Duckspeak. So poorly in fact that none of the movies made from the novel attempted to demonstrate it or even mention it.

    What is clear is that spoken and written nonsense serves the purposes of the state. Anything that adds to the appearance of chaos and contradicts what common sense tells the public is useful to dictators. The intent is the same as gas-lighting. You didn’t see what you think you saw. Maybe we should send you off to check your sanity.

    How very Soviet. Orwell used Stalin as his model for Big Brother.

    An absolute tragedy, Trooper Morris was a fine, upstanding man and a life long true public servant. He didn’t deserve to go out like this.

    I find it interesting that people think if Biden gets elected, the riots will get worse. Maybe, until the inauguration, but once the Dems are in charge, I’ll bet they will crush that sort of dissent with an iron fist. Can’t have those optics during a Dem administration. Besides, that will show the law abiding what will happen if they protest the draconian rules they will implement.

      The riots will continue, the economy will get worse, we will lose our standing in the world and all of the gains made in the last four years will be wiped out and then some.
      But, nobody will be able to tell, because the willing propagandists in the media will be silent about all of it. Only “good” news when a dem is involved from the MSM.
