The propaganda begins….

The NZ Herald has an item up titled “Should we retain MMP?” (that’s the insane voting system NZ has, which was abandoned by Germany as unworkable and undemocratic)
It features the opinions of two MPs. Both women. Both apparently brain-dead. (now, there’s a surprise).
The money quote, from Nikki Kaye:
“Personally I believe that there are many positive aspects to MMP, particularly that it has brought more women and more ethnic groups to Parliament.”
There you have it–screw democracy, never mind the fact that a racist tail can wag the dog, forget that unelected people can be appointed as MPs under this system–getting more women and ethnic groups into Parliament is the important thing.
I despair. Really.
