Sheep, or New Zealanders? Decision day for NZ voters.

Paragraph (g) of Section 197(1) of the Electoral Act be damned–feel free to comment.
UPDATE: TrueblueNZ has a great post up on why he’s publishing opinions on the elections today and allowing comments. Read it, and know what a free man with a pair looks like.
Polls indicate that a majority of Kiwis will tick the box for the National party today. The only possible conclusion is that they’re too uninformed, too apathetic or simply too damn stupid to see the truth staring them in the face: John Key and his gang are almost indistinguishable from the odious Helen Clark and her gang. Consider the following facts our readers have contributed and ask yourselves this: Did you throw out a dishonest pack of socialists in order to be governed by…another dishonest pack of socialists? If the answer is “yes”, then NZ is in deep, deep crap and will be for the forseeable future. The exodus of the skilled and the ambitious ought to speak for itself but perhaps NZ will need to become the Greece of the Pacific before the message sinks in.
‘*Ignoring the will of the people on anti-smacking.
*Supporting the ETS scam.
*Tossing decades old principles out for control at any cost.
* Failure to articulate to the electorate the dire state of NZ’s fiscal situation with any tangible sense of reality.
* The pusillanimous back down on the mining issue.
*Providing an easy path for parasites like Klark & Kullen to get into cushy public sector jobs, and in Klark’s case, a cushy international job.
*Reintroducing the Electoral Finance Act, a typically socialist attack on free speech.
(and of course most likely entering into a coalition with the Watermelons after the election.)
*Nick Smith’s doling out of taxpayer money to “green” business “winners” he personally picked.
*Not doing anything about reining in benefit dependency while his sidekick Double Dipton conceded the war by calling them “entitlements.”
*There’s lots, but snuggling up to tattooed tribalists and the ETS crap are two of them.
*His failure to have a meaningful cleanout of the socialist-ridden public service.
*Sneaking Sharples off to NY to sign the Indigenous Peoples crap.
*
Marine and Coastal Areas Act
*
Rushing on with the TOW payments (which have not been allowed to feel the GFC heat).
*Having Smith and Finlayson in his Cabinet.
*And then there are all his “failures”. Failure to stop expanding the welfare state. Failure to get rid of all the “Ministries” that are leftist wet dreams. Failure to stand up for his country against the global warming scam. Failure to stop spending.
* Passing the CERA and making King Gerry the first of Christchurch.
* Attempting to end the right to silence.
* Raising GST.
*Continued pushing of welfare state
*Pandering to Maori racists
*Emissions trading scam
*How about Key’s reneging on his 2008 pre-election promise to remove the racist Maori seats?! Which ties in, I guess, with his going unnecessarily into coalition with the racist Maori Party post election, and all his subsequent appeasement and horse-trading with same.’
READ THIS BEFORE YOU VOTE FOR JOHN KEY
“… Vote for John Key and you’re voting for a bunch of left wing frauds who have taken over the National Party and turned it into a sub-branch of the Labour Party…”

I’m feeling quite conservative today – not blue, just quite conservative. I imagine tommorow I’ll be feeling quite depressed, but at least I’ll have a clear conscience and will still be able to look at myself in the mirror.

    Aren’t moods such funny things?

  2. pmofnz says:

Yep KK, I’d say that today there will be more than a few that will hold their head high, with pinched nostrils and have to deal with their conscience tomorrow.

Just a little laugh at JK and his loon’s ETS. Actually it is a bit sad because we will be footing the bill.

    Hat tip to Theo.

  4. Ciaron says:

I don’t want to abstain, as thats not what my forebears fought for. Having said that, they didn’t fight for the bullshit choice I, no, WE now face either.

BTW, got my first birdie last night

  5. The Gantt Guy says:

Have a look at the arrogance in this clip of New Zealand’s most popular ever Prime Minister on the topic of the Conservative Party:

    http://www.3news.co.nz/Late-surge-for-Conservatives/tabid/370/articleID/234150/Default.aspx

I really, really, really hope kiwis are smart enough to wipe the smarmy off that smug arsehole’s face come tonight!

People, when you go to the polls, vote Conservative or,cig you’re ideologically a little confused, vote ACT!

  6. KG says:

“BTW, got my first birdie last night ”
    Pheasant shooting?

  7. Ciaron says:

John Keys theme song for today: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OG3PnQ3tgzY

  8. Ciaron says:

Well fuck this, you guys aint playing the game.

  9. The Gantt Guy says:

Jeez mate slow down. I’m on duty with Miss Five which means I can only get back here when she’s distracted. And I assume KG is off picking mangoes or listening to his Dave Brubeck records or something.

    • Ciaron says:

Mr almost six is well distracted by the penguins of madagascar

I was planning on being front and centre at 09:00, but I’m chewing over your 05:56 ;-)

      • The Gantt Guy says:

I notice the iPad keyboard made the second half of my 5.56 a little jumbled. Bloody apple!

Well done with Mr Six. The Madagascar penguins make the best baby sitters! Much less annoying than Thomas or those bloody little ponies:)

        • Ciaron says:

He’s ditched the penguins for Mat Hoffmans BMX.

I’m a bit uneasy about CCCP, as Family First’s value your vote rating has CCCP lining up with winnie first and that scares the shit out of me…

          • The Gantt Guy says:

Yeah FF call them NZ First-ian, and Farrar calls them Muldoonist. And yet they’ve still got up to almost 2% of the vote inside 2 months. It isn’t even that people necessarily like their policy platform – they seem to need to invest in some real policy development work. It’s more that people are PISSED OFF with BAU (NatLab socialist coalition, ACT a joke, Winston a crook, Maoris want all the cash etc etc).

I think this time around the Conservatives are being seen as something of a protest vote. It will be great (a miracle, but great) if Colin Craig can pick up Rodney, but I think they’ve launched now to get some publicity and will make the real push in 2014.

    • KG says:

 Dave who? Is he a classical violinist?

    • WAKE UP says:

“And I assume KG is off picking mangoes or listening to his Dave Brubeck records or something.”

      Nice one, Gantty

  10. The Gantt Guy says:

Oh, and by way of a theme song for today, I think this one suits both of them:

There will never be a lack of Kapos–look at this, from that prick Farrar over at Kiwiblog:
    Moist von Lipwig says:
    November 26, 2011 at 12:35

    Not only cowardice..it’s treason.
Look at this crap from Farrar..
“If any commenter does post a comment that could be considered in breach, I will be happy to supply their e-mail address and IP address to the Electoral Commission. I will also delete the comment and suspend the account.”
I sometimes read him, but from now on, as the saying goes..”It’s goodbye from me”

  13. Sci Fi Guy says:

All KB is good for now is as an insight to the Progressive Liberal mind masquerading as a Conservative. I really hope the Conservative Party can scrape 5% or even take Rodney.

    • Ciaron says:

Well, I’ve done my bit for them and I know quite a few others who were at least giving them serious consideration.

  14. The Gantt Guy says:

Yep. Me and Mrs Gantt both gave them 2 ticks, and I know the out-laws (who are Rodney voters) are doing the same.

  15. Sci Fi Guy says:

The wife’s biggest complaint was that she never read anything about the Conservatives in the Socialist Media.

  16. Ciaron says:

Whats the worst that could happen? Goff’s rabble of everyone who deserted the labour party looks as stable as as a one legged man caght in a tornado, so we’ll get round 2 in >2months?

  17. Kris K says:

Just been down to the local town hall and done my civic duty. I’m guessing Chuck Bird isn’t going to be too impressed with the way most of us seem to have voted – if you get my drift ;)

Will be interesting to see how “the only real choice” gets on as the evening progresses. And also whether MMP gets the boot or not. Got all my fingers and toes crossed, and the hotline ‘upstairs’ has been running white hot.

  18. The Gantt Guy says:

Anyone know if the results will be live-streamed anywheres, for an offshore kiwi political tragic?

  19. KG says:

MMP won’t get the boot–there’s been a relentless MSM campaign waged on behalf of keeping it.
And if the Conservative Party gets more than 2% of the vote it’ll be a miracle, considering how the same MSM have imposed a virtual news blackout on them.
Those who blather about “democracy” conveniently ignore the role the partisan media plays in the process, which makes it deeply un-democratic.

  20. KG says:

New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990
    inter alia:
    • The right to freedom of thought, conscience, religion, and belief, including the right to adopt and hold opinions without interference (Section 13)
    Freedom of expression
    • The right to freedom of expression, including the freedom to seek, receive, and impart information and opinions of any kind in any form (Section 14)

    • Kris K says:

Except on election day – obviously. Or no doubt at any other time when it doesn’t serve the Socialist/Islamist agenda …

  21. KG says:

Precisely. And any “freedom” which can be removed or suspended on a bureaucrat or politician’s whim is no freedom at all.
