From today’s Australian newspaper: ‘Tony Abbott says the U.N.’s climate chief is “talking through her hat” by suggesting a link between the NSW bushfires and climate change.’
At last, we have a PM who actually sounds like a dinkum Aussie.

and for something completely different…
‘A portrait of a tardigrade or waterbear, The animals consist of only a few hundred cells that are differentiated into muscles, digestive organs, reproductive organs, nerves, in many cases eyes.’
‘…tardigrades can withstand temperatures from just above absolute zero to well above the boiling point of water, pressures about 6 times stronger than pressures found in the deepest ocean trenches, ionizing radiation at doses hundreds of times higher than the lethal dose for a person, and the vacuum of outer space. They can go without food or water for more than 10 years, drying out to the point where they are 3% or less water, only to rehydrate, forage, and reproduce’ source
Is paranoia now impossible?
From a Francis Porretto post, this morning:
‘…The International Monetary Fund (IMF) quietly dropped a bomb in its October Fiscal Monitor Report. Titled “Taxing Times,” the report paints a dire picture for advanced economies with high debts that fail to aggressively “mobilize domestic revenue.” It goes on to build a case for drastic measures and recommends a series of escalating income and consumption tax increases culminating in the direct confiscation of assets.‘ (bold mine)
Francis has more to say, of course. And note his words on the subject of conspiracies…..
Oh, and watch out for the term “mobilizing domestic revenue”, coming soon from the lips of a politician or bureaucrat near you..
It sounds so much nicer than “State theft of private property”, after all.
To the idiot Kiwi woman
who spent many years in England and insisted to me that she felt “culturally enriched” by the muslim invasion of that country:
‘..From 2003 to 2008, Sweden’s sexual assault rate doubled to 53 rapes per 100,000 people. The numbers are now so bad that some forecasts indicate that 1 in 4 Swedish women will be raped in their lifetimes. Police statistics show that as much of 77% of rapes were carried out by foreign born rapists. As much as 5 percent of Sweden is now Muslim. Around the same time that Sweden’s rape statistics were doubling, so was its Muslim population….’ source
Leftards running gas ovens? No problem:
A message to the lo-info lemmings:
‘..If you need citations to any of these points at this late stage in our long, suicidal march to economic and political oblivion you have been too long in the media bubble of lies and juvenile entertainments that are unworthy of anyone who claims to be a citizen, let alone a functioning adult. If this is all new and strange to you now, just go back to sleep. You have no pride and if your country will be taken over by foreigners and the hard left it won’t bother you so long as you can still catch the ball game or watch the latest metrosexual sitcom episode on cable. And, if you want to know what pathetic is, look in the mirror.’

Memo to Christiana Figueres:
Go screw yourselves.
Liars are bad enough, but lying parasitical busybodies such as you ought to be hanging by the neck, not presuming to interfere in a country’s sovereign rights.
For Gantt
hehehehe…
Lurching towards war.
‘…Law is a consensus. But the left rejects that consensus. It subjects each law to an ideological test. If the law meets the ideological test, which is based on social justice criteria entirely foreign to the American legal system, and the practical test of furthering social justice, it can stay. If not, then it will either be struck down or disregarded. They have applied that same ideological test to the nation as a whole and decided that the existence of the United States does not meet their ideological tests…’ Daniel Greenfield
In my view, the worst possible outcome would be if the Republicans win the next elections and everybody breathes a sigh of relief, thinking “it’s over”. It won’t be. Not by a long shot. The current crop of Republicans are at best Democrat-lite and it’ll be business as usual, especially on the illegal “immigrant” amnesty question. The problems America faces will not be fixed by the ballot box.
Delingpole on obesity:
‘….What our current socialised healthcare system does, unfortunately, is to remove this vital connection between cause and effect. Not only are the obese cushioned from the financial consequences of their wanton self-indulgence but they inhabit a culture so in thrall to the idea of victimhood, so fearful of “judgementalism” and so wary of causing offence that it doesn’t even dare hint that there might be a problem with being fat….’
‘Obesity should be fat people´s problem – not everyone´s problem’
