The reason bribery is illegal

is that it would make the same corruption our political masters employ to enrich themselves, available to the peasants. And that would never do.

    Yes indeed. What is an election after all, but the people choosing which party is offering the best bribes? (leaving aside the fact most people don’t realise they’re being bribed with their own damn money).
