‘Kiwi exodus for Aussie at new high
New Zealanders continued to abandon their home country for Australia, with the speed of annual departures accelerating to a record 53,000 last month. New Zealand lost a net 39,100 people to Australia in the 12 months ended…’
And right under the headline article, there’s a report which says, in part:
‘The report also shows more people have been arriving long term in New Zealand than departing since the 1990’s, with the loss of New Zealanders to other lands being made up by migrants from elsewhere…’   source
Which conveniently ignores the type of migrants, and the fact that NZ’s culture is rapidly being replaced by something alien.

    Just paying out on the Diversity Dividend, pal. Remember, all cultures are equal and it doesn’t matter if it’s the productive, entrepreneurial people leaving and leeches arriving.

    Also, don’t forget that as soon as the leeches get themselves a NZ passport, they can come settle here in the Lucky Country. :whoop :rant :popcorn

      Yeah, I was thinking that sooner or later OzGov would lower the boom on that particular back door, but on second thoughts, why would they? What’s the difference between welcoming illegal refugees arriving by boat and those arriving by 747 with the NZ stamp of approval, no matter how dubious that stamp is becoming?

        So back in my day, in the ’80s when I got a job delivering pizza after school, the area around Northcote Shopping Centre was a no-go zone because of the animals living in the tenements (company policy was at least 2 people whenever a delivery was made around there). Now it’s a no-go zone because kiwis won’t understand the shop signs.

        That area was always a prie candidate for testing dirty nukes.

          I played league around there 20 plus years ago and there was a woolworths and a few shops. But I live close to the CBD and dom rd is a chinese precinct as well.

      The difference is that for Aussies, Gillard is nothing more than a failed experiment, unlikely to be tried again for a generation. For New Zealand, the default setting is ‘Statism’; there is no problem that can’t be solved with a government program. Add to that the rampant pandering to the forces of apartheid and you have a recipe for bankruptcy.

    New Zealand is the Lucky Land. Lucky to have OZ next door mining for wealth.If it weren’t for the safety valve that the industrial sector of Australia provides to NZers prepared to work there’d be a heck of a lot more unemployed here in NZ,and with that more expense and trouble.

    I see trouble for both yet. Signs that China is slowing down ,and that is inevitable, when that happens the shit will hit the fan.

      If the right kind of migrant, I see no problem at all, Peter. And a lot of benefits.
      But first and foremost, they would have to subscribe to the cultural values NZ was built on.

    My understanding is that circa 40% of those who migrate to Oz from NZ have been resident in NZ for less than seven years. I think the “diversity” rabble must get citizenship in NZ en-route to Oz.

    NZ is living in a self-created dream world.
    There’s little to keep a young, qualified person here – anyone with blood in their veins would be a fool to stick around in this Second Tasmania.
    The economy is flat and genuine career-making opportunities are very scarce.
    The native population is increasingly late middle-aged and hitting retirement. Infrastructure and entrepreneurial development is pretty much stalled on account of the stifling city council and government “resource consent” cottage industries.
    “Tweety” settlement BS has never been more alive.
    And, unless I’m very much mistaken, the whole ball of wax and delusion is spinning on the hot market needle called Red China.
