This is the funniest damned thing I’ve read in a long, long time, and sums up what the hell is wrong with RINOs, SKUNCs, the GOP and Karl Rove…

Some Republicans worry Cruz could lead the party to electoral disaster. One Republican strategist compared him to former Sen. George McGovern (S.D.), whose victory in the 1972 Democratic presidential primary represented the high-water mark of liberal influence in the modern party.

“If you look back at political history we’re on the same glide path as the Democrats in the late ’60s and the ’70s,” said the GOP strategist. “We could have a McGovern-type candidate we need to get out of our system. Ted Cruz would be at the top of that list. He can win the nomination and that’s alarming.”

King Barry Hussein Soetero Obama makes McGovern look like a card-carrying NRA Life Member, TEA Party activist and this fucktard is saying McGovern was the liberal high-water mark?

Sheesh, those establishment assholes don’t like it up ’em, do they?

I linked to this op-ed previously but I would recommend all here take the time to read it.

    • KG says:

      Excellent article, Michael!
‘…Gun people don’t trust anti-gun people because suicide is the only human-inflicted leading cause of death in America, and that violent crime has been on the decline for decades. We also know that 10 people die daily in drownings, 87 people die daily by poisoning, more than 20,000 adults die from falls each year, someone dies in a fire every 169 minutes, nearly 31,000 people are killed in car accidents annually and almost 2,000 are stabbed to death. People even kill each other with hammers. Yet fewer than 14,000 people are killed by guns of any kind each year….’

But of course–as he points out–the hoplophobes are immune from reason.

    • Pascal says:

Sorry, but I neglected to commend you on this find the first time around. He puts the situation about trustworthiness in plain language. However, what matters more is that half the GOP cannot be trusted to either, and they’re the ones in office with voting power. Ronbo has the right attitude — he’s preparing for what we grimly must expect will happen while I pray that it doesn’t.

    This is how it works………

Fail to pay a million dollars in tax and get only 3 months in jail because…..

“I am a child of former slaves who had a system imposed on them,” ….. “I had an economic system imposed on me.”

She could still be living in the jungle in a mud hut, cooking over a wood fire while various factions are slaughtering each other with AK 47’s just so they can impose yet another despot on the locals.

” … She could still be living in the jungle in a mud hut, cooking over a wood fire while various factions are slaughtering each other with AK 47′s just so they can impose yet another despot on the locals … ”

    Well said.

She also had a cultural system “imposed” on her that enabled her to make millions of dollars in a matter of years, and that certainly wouldn’t have happened in too many other places. With all that money, she could have moved to a culture and “economic system” more to her liking, but of course she wouldn’t let principle rule to that extent. Zero sympathy.

  6. KG says:

I’m a child of former victims of Roman invasion–does that mean I don’t have an obligation to pay taxes?
These people are despicable, playing the victim card when it suits, while living in a society that has given them the opportunity to succeed beyond the wildest dreams of their ancestors.
    Bastards.

    • Darin says:

Wait a minute,I too was born into financial slavery.I am the victim of a system of taxation that robs from me and gives to someone else over 15% of my gross income every week.I didn’t vote for this system,I was not asked if I agree with it,but I am stuck in it “for my own good”says my slave master uncle Sam.Shouldn’t I file suit under the 13th amendment?

      • The Gantt Guy says:

15%? Bugger me mate but we should all be so lucky. Most are raped far worse than that!

A review Of Baz Luhrman’s “Gatsby”:
    http://variety.com/2013/film/reviews/the-great-gatsby-review-1200447930/#!1/tobey-maguire/

I can’t stand the guy’s work, so this review comes as no surprise at all. From this and other’s I’ve read, it seems he manages to spectacularly miss the point of Fitzgerald’s book.
It’s never been successfully turned into a film and Luhrman leaves the record intact.

    From the latest Woodpile Report:
‘The Fort Hood shooter is a Muslim and a registered Democrat. The Virginia Tech shooter wrote hate mail to George Bush and his staff and was a registered Democrat. The Aurora Colorado shooter was a staff worker on the Obama campaign and took part in Occupy Wall Street. He was a progressive liberal and a registered Democrat. The Newtown, Connecticut shooter hated Christians and was a registered Democrat. The Columbine high school shooters were too young to vote, but both of their families were progressive liberals and registered Democrats.

Well done to Issa and those pressing the Benghazi investigation. There’s much more to come on this. Here’s breitbart.com’s view of the 5 key points so far.

Hasn’t the Fast & Furious scandal gone very quiet lately?

  14. KG says:

A lefty Brit reviewer’s take on Gatsby concludes with this:
‘…No, the test for me was whether Luhrmann would be able to scale it down to the intimate core of the story, and let us see the brutal and cruel truth of what these idle rich really represent. (I exclude Carraway because he’s the only character in the story who cares a jot about anything.) Here, Luhrmann largely succeeds, bringing out the carelessness at the heart of Tom and Daisy, and conveying the essential message that riches rob us of our humanity. That message resonates as much today as it did in Fitzgerald’s day’

Never miss an opportunity, do they? I’m left wondering of some of the reviewers have even read the book.

    From today’s Australian:

    I bet he does!
