So much for Fox News being the mouthpiece of Eeeevil Darth Murdoch and his blood-drinking virgin-despoiling capitalist cabal. Getting more and more like the ABC every day.

Question: would he be the hen amongst the fox-houses?

    Thanks for posting this KG.

I’ve been criticized for my apparent insubstantial cynicism about FNC. I lumped them in with the others from when I was using Agency of Lies as the label for our news media (rather than Orwell’s more Brit sounding Ministry of Truth).

I included Fox in there in large part because of their reluctance to fight back against slanders against them by the other AoLs. Despite all the good news that they provided, in their own way they were the network version of George Will: saying their piece but strangely silent when the others treated them like the crazy uncle. They have been unhelpful in too many ways.

And now that I have abandoned the fictionally inspired label “Agency of Lies” for the historically accurate “Soviet-Style Media” label, there is little doubt that Fox is the SSM’s milksop arm. It effectively has placated conservatives for far too long. Yet even with their keeping Karl Rove on as a regular to aid the Prog GOPe there remained far too many who refused to see that as the unmitigated aid to Democrats and Obama that it became. And now you’ve provided us with a smoking gun about the family’s views on the need to pummel “climate change deniers” only if they’re in policy-making positions — along with the ominous sounding “for now.”

I’ll say now that my past insights were helped in that I’ve had, on and off, two degrees of separation from Rupert, so had first hand accounts of some of his inclinations. I didn’t even attribute them to an unnamed source because I think you see how that could be problematic.

However, this story aids me in sustaining my opinions about Fox in ways that I could not do with my unnamed source. Thanks again.
