Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez said she has no qualms about acknowledging a so-called “Green New Deal” will mean unprecedented governmental intrusion into the private sector. Appearing on NPR, she was asked if she’s prepared to tell Americans outright that her plans involve “massive government intervention.”
“As you know, congresswoman, one reason that people are politically conservative are skeptical of efforts to combat climate change is that it sounds to them like it requires massive government intervention, which they just don’t like,” Steve Inskeep asked. “Are you prepared to put on that table that, ‘Yes actually they’re right, what this requires is massive government intervention’?”
“It does, it does, yeah, I have no problem saying that,” Ocasio-Cortez quickly replied. “Why? Because we have tried their approach for 40 years. For 40 years we have tried to let the private sector take care of this. They said, ‘We got this, we can do this, the forces of the market are going to force us to innovate.’”

Well Pascal, we had the 1930s FDR New Deal, which was from another era. Before then, there was practically no such thing as license. After the New Deal, you now had to have a license to do this and to do that. Now that the government is intervening in many ways the Democrats say its not enough.
We now need another New Deal which will mean even more government intervention. Soon all we will have is government control in every way. Ironically this is at the same time that Trump is doing a U Turn, from socialism.

KG is that here in New Zealand? If so we’ve already had the Green revolution. We have the Greens in power. In America, Greens is still new.
We have the Greens ascent to power, but not yet their “revolution”, Warren.
Right yes, its not quite the full cycle of the revolution. Here in New Zealand, their aren’t a lot of individual rights left (very few left if any), at least not for men. Women are given preference here.
Over the last 15 years, a lot of rights that we had left are gone with the wind. And before then, people would have lost other rights.
It used to be such a great place to live in. Now its not.
BIG government and its blood supplier the(not) federal (but private) reserve are the problem. With sound money this would not have been possible. The creation of a fiat currency which you can inflate indefinitely gave them the mean to corrupt the system and grow government. So who you vote for no longer mattered because all sides now belonged to the same corrupt progressive monster.
I think she’ll be replaced at some stage by a “more moderate” candidate, after the media has raised awareness of all the green issues.
The “moderate” will of course then introduce more ‘reasonable” measures which will look marginally saner than this idiot’s, but they’ll merely be in line with U.N. policies.
Her New Green Deal has been scrubbed form her electronic media. Maybe mad Nancy isn’t always so.

I do not disagree on the need to pray Ed. But scripture reveals that prayer often goes unanswered until a much wider number engage in it. So pray that not too many good people will have to suffer before their brothers (or parents) come around.
