For Our Brother KG

When I first started reading this Blog.I found an ocean of common sense in a world gone mad and I found in KG a brother I never knew I had.

We shared many of the same opinions and interests, shared advice and fought the good fight in the only way we could, by setting a record that others might see in time, what we already knew to be truth.

Sadly, our brother,KG,has passed on to the next life.

This post is to pay remembrance and to share our recollections of a fine man that cared what was happening to Liberty and all those that hold it dear.Although we never met face to face,he will always be my Brother.

Rest in Peace Brother, and sincerest condolences to our Sister Gecko.

Darin

Sorry to hear that. I always enjoyed his contributions. At least now he’s free of the tribulations of this world.

A letter from an old friend-

    My Relationship With KG
If my memory serves me correctly, it was back toward the end of 2008 that I came upon the blog – Crusader Rabbit – then being run out of New Zealand. I remember noting that although the topics being raised by the owner were of public interest, there did not seem much interest shown in the topics raised going on the lack of comments being received.
I believe that the website was then still in its infancy, hence the lack of comments, and due simply to lack of readership. But, what got my attention about this site was the building of a small deck that was being erected on the side of a modest cottage and the workmanship involved in putting it all together that the owner posted about.

I do appreciate good wood working skills.

So I started leaving comments on some of the topics raised, but more specifically, aimed at the workmanship of the deck in progress.

I received much appreciation for my comments from the man I would come to know as KG and became over the next two years (?) a regular visitor to Crusader Rabbit due to KG’s ability to pick out some very interesting topics involving world events, and especially his admiration for the United States and its historical and contemporary significance in world affairs.

I too, shared his sentiments regarding the United States and also his staunch support for firearm ownership.
KG would often post photographs – and good pictures they were – of various natural objects, such as birds, insects, natural terrain etc, taken by the person I would come to know as Gecko, who has an obvious talent with many things photographic.

Again, and if my memory serves me correctly, both KG and Gecko sold their cottage and moved over the ditch to Australia sometime in 2010 with the aim of setting up Crusader Rabbit in the tropical area of Northern Australia. As they were heading through my way, I live in New South Wales, I invited them to our house (the wife and I) for an evening meal and a possible sleep over. The meeting was to serve two purposes – to meet each other and to set up my position within Crusader Rabbit as an editor/contributor.

From what I remember of that night – which I believe went well – I gained the distinct impression that both KG and Gecko made a solid couple, that is, they were quite comfortable with each other. I also noted that KG had a very strong character, being almost a driven man.

As an ex- soldier and policeman, I can easily relate to what KG was often fighting against.

I was not long with Crusader Rabbit before KG and I had a falling out, the cause of which will not be entered into by me. Suffice it to say though, I got to converse with some very good people and who I consider a privilege to have conversed with.

Rest in peace KG, you have certainly earned it.

The sun is a little dimmer, the laughter a little more forced.
Requiescat in Pace, KG. “We” will carry on, in your memory.
Gecko, know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

Yes, may he rest in peace. A great man who will always be missed. If only there were more men around like him fighting the good fight.

  6. I started reading here after Pascal started mentioning it to me.
I’ll confess, I’ve had a difficult time figuring out who is whoand from where.
    I will miss KGs posts.
    Condolences to his Gecko.
    May God bring her comfort.

  7. Yokel says:

Oh no! I am lost for words, he will be sorely missed.

May the good Lord look after those he left behind.

  8. fish153 says:

So, so very sorry to hear…..dreadful news. I worked with KG for a number of years in the South Island. We shared many things – loved his insights and thoughts and company. I looked up to him.
A rare breed. RIP KG. My deepest sympathies to Gecko and his loved ones.
    Blessings

  9. Warren Tooley says:

So sad to hear KG is gone, I’d much rather it be Andrew Little who is gone.

  10. Bill The Bunyip says:

I also found CR to be a beacon of hope when things seemed to be getting dark. KG saw things with a clarity that most of us can only hope to approach, but he also was consistent in his views for as long as I have been reading CR. That takes true courage and dedication which often comes from having seen the alternatives up front and personal.
KG will be missed by all of us and his legacy will be how we conduct ourselves in the war we are fighting against the left and all of its enablers.
Gecko needs to be in all our thoughts and prayers for those of you who believe. KG was always complimenting his wife for her being by his side and he clearly felt he would not have been able to do what he did without her support.
    Rest in Peace my friend.

  11. Michael in Nelson says:

Very sad news indeed. I last met him in August on my to fish the Tongariro. We had a lovely visit reminiscing and I got to listen to his thoughts on Liberty and Freedom.

Rest easy old friend. Thank you for establishing this community of deplorables.

  12. fish153 says:

Does anyone know about funeral/memorial service date, time, place?
If so, please contact me – I would like to attend if possible…..

    • Warren Tooley says:

Hi Gecko, is KG in Auckland, if so I’d like to go to his funeral. If not then I guess I won’t be going, as travel is an issue for me.

  13. Pompuss says:

From the other side of the Rainbow Bridge:-

Selfishly (was I ever anything different) I am hunting for my friend KG and when I find him will sit on his lap, sleep in the crook of his knees and purr and purr to tell him that he rose above his humaness to achieve something close to Catdom.

Travel well my friend, the world has lost another superior being.

    Mega purrs for Gecko,

    Pompuss

  14. Pix says:

Such sad news. I have been reading this blog for years and felt an afinity with KG for his love of freedom and his down to earth views amid all the crap that is happening in the world. Fly free my friend and may you rest in the arms of the Lord.

  15. simpleton1 says:

Thanks to KG, for maintaining the correct points in life, and civilisation, and sharing with others the same concerns, aiding one to be more true.

May he rest in peace, as we go on and keep that ember more than glowing, so that it may fan into a raging fire of discussion, debate, to bring true understanding, particularly in free speech, liberty, freedom, independence, and all the parts he believed in. Thankyou.

  16. Cadwallader says:

He will certainly be missed by me! Best wishes to all contributors to this blog. You are rational thinkers in a non-thinkers’ world. KG brought you together.

  17. Pascal says:

Maybe some of you noticed that KG signaled us on May 26 that he was soon to leave us.

About a mug he’d ordered online, KG posted a comment to Open House http://falfn.com/CrusaderRabbit/?p=34219#comment-109653 that ended with the line “I may not still be around to take delivery, but I know someone who will love using it.

In an email he confirmed my suspicion and thanked me for my concern and support.

Just about every regular to this site shared with KG the struggle against the darkness that is attempting to extinguish the spark of the West.

That is reflected in the comments above.

It is hard to put into words how much I will personally miss his support of my insights into the morally twisted hearts welcoming that darkness. Indeed, such comments as I had made at one of Porretto’s blogs a dozen or so years ago prompted him to invite me here.

In his last email to me he graciously ended his farewell with a line that I am sure he wishes for you all. It is something that should never be forgotten as we continue our struggles.

    Go well and enjoy life.

  18. Warren Tooley says:

Ok Gecko, keep us informed, without giving our opponents too much information.

  19. Grog says:

    My Condolences, Gecko.

I’ve only been commenting here a few years, but like many, I found KG’s observations and sarcasm very insightful.

We all must pass through the curtain, he improved the lives of many before he did so.

    Rest well, KG.

  20. powderburns says:

Jung has an approach to death, that I found like a lightning thunderstorm.

If you live your life well, if you set up your grand-kids, your friends, your community, your wife, your mum, your dad, you leave a little bit of you behind. The real collective. The stream of unconscious. Jung called it the collective unconscious. You continue to live in the people you leave behind. If you live your life well, you should have nothing to fear. You have partaken of the bifrost highway of existence, and can be satisified that you exist in the coming generation. If you do a great job, you will live for many generations. If sublime, you become forever. That’s a goal. You then approach old age with comfort. You know that death is just a skimming stone on a river. If you’ve practiced, plenty of hops. Nothing to fear.

Perhaps KG then exists in us.

Sorry for the mescalin trip. Sad to hear of your loss.

  21. Oswald Bastable says:

A very private man, but from what I know of his life- he now dines at the higher tables of Valhalla. The truely great warrior may not fall in battle, but can still continue the fight until the end of his days, by means of his wisdom.

  22. Robertv says:

Really sad to hear he has passed away. It is a shame that on this beautiful planet we need Crusaders like him to fight those few who want to make our existence as miserable as possible just to have power. Life is to short for that.

Condolences to all those close to him especially Gecko.

  23. Gecko says:

Thank you all for your kind words.

  24. Lindsay Mitchell says:

He held strong to his principles Gecko. And to you.

  25. Dash says:

I just never know what to say.

My thoughts go out to you Gecko.

KG was a true warrior – a man of wisdom and patience… and fine taste.

I am so very glad to have followed the link to this site when it was first posted at Iron Legion and found this community. KG made us feel very welcomed. He allowed my comments to drift to crazy town and indulged my paranoia with a lighthearted nod – I never got to know him personally even when others tried to reach me through him, I never took the opportunity to get to know him well – I regret that now… but I did not want to drag him down my rabbit hole (so to speak).

You will be missed KG – thank you for this place you left behind.
