A “monumental shift” for half the population only. For the female half, it’s Christmas. Some slag cheating on her boyfriend? Why, it wasn’t her fault, it was rape. Buyer’s remorse the morning after a drunken encounter? It was rape. Boyfriend leaves her after a row? He left after raping her. Woman wants to get rid of an inconvenient husband and gain custody of the kids, house, car and bank balance? He raped her.
And in every case, the man would have to prove otherwise, a clear impossibility in almost all cases. How does one go about proving consent? Tape recorder? Video the encounter? Only do it in front of three impartial witnesses?
This is a charter for vindictive women to wage war on men, with the connivance of politicians and the courts. The presumption of innocence is the cornerstone of justice. Throw that away under the pretext of “special circumstances” and the instant that happens, there is no justice at all, merely show trials.
