Unintended consequences:

‘The West is losing the heroin war in Afghanistan – ten years after Tony Blair pledged that wiping out the drug was one of the main reasons for invading the country.
Despite spending £18billion and a conflict which has so far cost the lives of almost 400 British troops, production of the class-A drug by Afghan farmers rose between 2001 and 2011 from just 185 tons to a staggering 5,800 tons.
It increased by 61 per cent last year alone…’

Perhaps we should all be truck drivers?

‘I was sitting at a traffic light yesterday, minding my own business, waiting for it to turn green. A carload of young, loud Muslims shouting anti English slogans including ‘death to all infidels’ stopped next to me. The light changed, the Muslims shook their fists, hit the accelerator and darted off ahead of me. Suddenly an 18-wheeler truck came speeding through and ran directly over their car, crushing it completely. For several minutes I sat in my car thinking to myself “That could have been me!” So today, bright and early, I went out and got myself a job as a truck driver.’

ENOUGH, FFS!

In the excerpt below, substitute “Illegal immigrant” for the slimy, evasive “asylum seeker” term.

‘Asylum seekers made to feel at home, thanks to a $10,000 welcome pack
ASYLUM seekers are receiving welcome packs of furnishings worth up to $10,000 and food hampers as they wait for their refugee claims to be processed.
Beds, fridges, mattresses, couches and items such as alarm clock radios, clothes hangers and containers for biscuits are being bought in a “household goods formation package” that contains more than 60 items.
The package includes a television with a minimum screen size of 53cm.
A family of five in community detention is eligible for goods valued at $7100.
Families of more than nine can receive up to $9850 in furnishings, the federal Opposition said after Senate hearings this week.
Asylum seeker families in Sydney arrive to a hamper of bread, butter, milk, eggs, other essentials, and cleaning products. Families with a baby can access a $750 pack of basic supplies, while phone and electricity connections are also paid for.
The assistance is on top of free doctors’ visits, dental care, pharmaceuticals, and education, and payments of up to $433.25 a fortnight….’

Europe’s getting interesting:

‘The battle of wills between Athens and its eurozone lenders intensified on Wednesday, with Greece’s finance minister accusing “forces in Europe” of pushing his country out of the euro while his German counterpart suggested postponing Greek elections and installing a new government without political parties…’             source

Gosh, what a surprise!

‘Two men accused of murdering Polish man Roman Skorek in a Rotorua park have made brief appearances in the Rotorua District Court.
Simon Meka Herewini, 20, and Rawiri James Samuel, 21, appeared in Rotorua District Court today charged with murdering the 64-year-old on January 23…’
And there was I, thinking the suspects would be named something like Alastair McTavish and Thomas Llewellyn!

Schoolteachers. At the forefront of the war on the West.

‘Parents in Tampa are the latest to protest school officials inviting a controversial Muslim civil liberties advocacy group to speak to students.
…“We do not have a problem with Islamic groups speaking with students, but we do have an issue with a group that has ties to terrorism speaking,” Randall McDaniels, head of the Jacksonville Chapter of ACT for America, one of the groups actively seeking to stop CAIR members from speaking to students in public schools, told FoxNews.com
…Michael Rubin, a resident scholar with the American Enterprise Institute who focuses on the Middle East and terrorism, said concerns about CAIR are not unfounded.
“They have been co-conspirators in a terrorism finance trial and seek to stymie debate rather than safeguard it,” Rubin said. “Almost every day, jihadists on religious Internet forums belie CAIR’s claim that religion has nothing to do with terrorism. Ultimately, there is a battle for interpretation going on inside the world of Islam, and rather than seek to win that debate for the moderates and proponents of tolerance, CAIR acts as the jihadists’ offensive linesmen.”                      source

The race card has always worked for him in the past, I guess…

‘New Zealand actor Jay Laga’aia has accused Australian network Channel 7 of axing him from Home and Away because of his ethnicity.
Laga’aia, who is of Samoan descent, has backed comments from Underbelly actor Firass Dirani, who accused networks of a “white Australia” policy and that actors on shows such as Packed to the Rafters and Neighbours do not reflect Australian society in 2012…’        source
He could always go and get what passes for “work” in a Samoan soapie.

Leftists simply don’t understand ethics. And they hate traditions.

Naming of Navy ships returns to tradition
Navy Secretary Ray Mabus, under fire from Congress and veterans for naming ships after fellow Democrats and social activists, plans to announce another round of ship names in the near future that will be more traditional, a Pentagon official tells The Washington Times.
…Mr. Mabus, a former Mississippi governor, broke with Navy conventions in the past three years when he named an amphibious ship, two cargo ships and a littoral combat ship after two social activists and two fellow Democrats…’
And this clown proposes naming another ship the ‘Gabrielle Giffords’. Seems being a politician and getting shot in the head is qualification enough….following that precedent, I look forward to seeing a ship named after Ray Mabus..
